My Cave

I thought summer was when you were supposed to get to sleep in. But today it is Thursday and still, I have yet to do so this week. Between orthodontist appts, household errands, piano lessons, gymnastics and meetings, it's just been a fast paced week. Oh yeah, and VBS every night. It seems that every time I sit down to work on business things, L-I-F-E happens. So what's a girl to do?

Some might give up and aim for rental therapy or the pool and others, I'm sure, curl up with a good book. But I find my solace in my Mom Cave. It's cool and dark in the basement, just what I need mid-June in Missouri! I have an area for my sewing machine, ironing board, rolls of fabric and cutting table. I also double my cutting table as my painting area (properly protected, of course) for my signs.

Creativity bursts forth like spring overnight when I'm down there. I admit, I almost don't want to leave the basement on some days. But the house is calling, the kids need help with VBS costumes and people are getting hungry. I must climb out of my cave today, with a promise to return tomorrow. But I think I could probably be a fantastic hermit!
